In their biggest meet of the season, our boys team set 4 school records, breaking over 25% of the school records in one day: the boys 4x100 relay team of Matt Cheong, Gevon Taylor, Michael Galathe, and William Liang; William Liang in winning the 110 high hurdles; Tayeb Zaidi in the 300 hurdles while taking second; and the 4x400 relay team of Gevon, Corey Robinson, Kyle Lee, and Tayeb. (Both relay teams finished second. William was our sole event winner on the boys side.)
Throughout the day the team outperformed pre-meet predictions and easily outdistanced BCL rivals Stuart Hall and Emery, but they could not keep up with Justin-Siena's firepower in three events: the pole vault (16 points), discus (11), and shot put (10). Those 37 points accounted for more than their 26 point margin of victory. 92 to 66, with Stuart Hall 3rd at 45 and Emery 4th at 39, both ahead of perennial power Fort Bragg (36).
Other excellent performances were turned in by Corey Robinson in the 800, second place and #2 performance on our All-Time list, Matt Jenkins in the 3200, also second and also #2 AT, and Steve Page 4th in the 1600 (#3 AT).
